MUNICIPAL PICTURE SHOWS.

UY TELEGKAPH —PIIESS ASSOCIATION. FOXTON, Oct. 7. The Mayor of Foxton, interviewed the Minister' at 'Wellington yesterday with reference to inserting a clause in the amending Municipal Corporations Act 'empowering , municipalities to provide and control picture entertainments. The Minister and Statutes Revision Committee have consented to such a clause being inserted. In a write of injunction to restrain the Foxton Borough Council from showing moving pictures, the Crief Justice recently ruled that no provision was made in the Act empowering a corporation to include moving pictures under their jurisdiction. If the House adopts the clause, future entertainments will be municipally controlled in many centres.
