BANK-NOTE 500 YEARS OLD.

A Chinese bank-note which is more than 500 years old has just come into the hands of the official in charge of the Sub-Treasury at New York. It was offered for deposit and exchange with other Chinese currency, by 'a local Chinese firm of importers. The note was issued during the Ming dynasty, in the reign of the Emperor Tai-Tsee/who occupied the throne from 1388 to 1399. The face value of the note is one kwan, or a string of cash, whiah would be less than sixpence in English money.
