Inglewood sent a men's team to Hawera on Thursday, and after a series of enjoyable and interesting games, the visitors were beaten by the local players.
The scores were: —Singles: Hawera, 8; Inglewood, 0. Four-ball foursomes, nine holes: Hawera, 3J; Inglewood, \. The following played for Hawera: O'Callaghan, Gillies^ Cardale, Tarra-nt, Page. Hill, Foyster, Dr Thomson. Inglewood : Thomson, Gudgeon, Dr Gault, Dewhirsi, Billing, O'Carroll, Surrey^ and Haworth. Playing in the foursomes, Thomson and Gudgeon were two up and three to go on O'Callaghan and Gillies. O'Callaghan, with a 5 at the long hole and a brilliant 3at the budleas equalised matters, and the last hole was halved in 5. The day's play was thoroughly enjoyable, and the Inglewood .men went back by the mail train, expressing the great pleasure they had had m their visit to Hawera. They are looking forward keenly to take their revenge when the Hawera club pays its next visit to their links.
