NAPIER ,Oct. 24. At the inquest on James Gordon, who was found dead on the road near Waikare, the evidence showed that deceased and his mate drank a bottle and a half of whisky neat in two hours. A verdict was returned that death was caused by suffocation through deceased falling face downwards in the whilst in a state of helpless intoxication.
