On Friday, May 10, at my Waiwakaiho yards, i had a fair entry and a good attendance. Bidding throughout was good, every line except a few bad-color-ed steers being cleared during the day at the following rates: Lambs, 9s: Jersey weaner to yearling heifers, £2 19s 6d; grades, £1 5s to £1 16s; weaner steers, £1 2s to £1 7s 6d; bad colors, 5s to 14s 6d; 20-month steers, £3 0s 6d to £3 ss; 20-months empty heifers, £3 i3s to £3 6s; 20 months in calf heifers, £3 18s 6d to £4 8s 6d; old cows, £1 9s 6d to £2 3s; store cows, £2 15s to £3 7s; bulls, £3; dairy cows, £5 10s. On Monday, May 13, I had only a fair yarding at Urenui with didl competition throughout. Mixed weaners, £1 15s; poor and bad colored, 13s to los; 15----months steers, £2 5s to £2 9s 6d; 20----months steers, good, £3 10s: 2J to 3 year steers, £4 3s to £5 3s; fat bullocks, £8 7s; forward bullocks, £6 7s; bulls, £2 os to £2 12s 6d ; store cows, £2 15s to £3 7s 6d; old cows, £1 12s 6d to I £2 4s; forward cows, £4 to £4 los; fat' cows, £5 4s to £5 10s; 20-months in calf heifers, £3 15s; 3-year in calf heifers, £5 to £6 3s: mixed ewes, 11s to 12s 8d; | poor, 6s;. lambs,, 7s 6d to 8s 8d; store wethers, 11s lOd to 14s. At Toko on the same day empty 20----month heifers realised £3 ss: mixed weaners, 14s to £1 5s 6d; weaner steers, £1 4s to £1 9s; weaner heifers. £1 6s to £1 10s; store cows, £2 to £3 9s; forward cows, £4 14s. At Stratford on Tuesday, May 14th, I had a very heavy entry, all yards and pens being well idled. Store'cows did not meet with as good enquiry as at late sales, although prices obtained were about the same. Good weaner to yearling heifers met with good competition as also did fat and forward cows, prices obtained were : —Mixed weaners, bad colours, 10s 6d to £1 2s 6d; grade Jersey heifers, good, £2 to £2 11s; grades, £1 Is to £1* 13s; 20-months empty heifers, £2 19s to £3 ss: 20----month steers, £3 11s; 20-month, in calf heifers, £3 14s to £4 7s 6d; store cows, £2 14s 6d to £3 15s; old cows, £1 to £2 2s 6d; forward cows, £4 to £4 6s; fat cows, £8, £5 15s, £5 14s, £5 13s 6d, i £5 3s, £4 15s, £4 10s; dairy cows, guaranteed, £5 to £6; 2-year steers, £'4 to £4 7s 6d: Holstein weaner bulls, £1 8s to £1 10s-, 18-month roan bull £2 2s 6d; small lambs, 4s 8d to 5s Id; store ewes, 9s 5d ; s.m. ewes, 4s Id. In my Stony River yards on Wednesday, there was only a small yarding, the majority being good store and forward cows which were dull of sale:— weaner heiiers, from £1 Is to £1 13s Gd; steers, 17s 6d to £1 17s 6d, according to quality; empty 20-month heifers, £3 3s tid; springing heifers, £6; 20----month steers, £3; 20-month in calf heifers, good, £4 13s: store cows, £2 3s to £3 9s 6d; forward cows, £3 4s 6d to £3 13s 8d; fat cows, £4 2s to £4 ss; dairy cows, guaranteed, £3 15s to £5 los; lambs, 7s 6d; store pigs, los. During the week 1 have sold privately some big lines of cattle and sheep, including a number of dairy herds. I can still report a good enquiry for good dairy cows, and invite particulars ot any good herds for sale. Mixed weaners, Jol 5s to £1 17s 6d; weaner steers, £J.
