CAR BURSTS INTO FLAMES

CARTERTON, May 11. A serious accident occurred last night at 11.45. Mr O, A. Cadwallader was returning to Carterton. from Martmborough in his car, and drove over the north approach to the Black bridge —a drop of about ten feet. The car overturned and pinned him underneath. Jhe other passenger in the car, Mr A. D. Annesley, was thrown clear. Simultaneously the car burst into flames, which quickly enveloped Mr Cadwallader. Mr Annesley extricated him and succeeded in subduing the flames. Mr Cadwallader was taken to the Daleton private hospital.. He was badly burned all over, his right arm 'and two legs being injured most. The burns, though serious, are not considered dangerous. The car is a complete wreck, only the steel frame and engine remaining. The car was only recently purchased .
