BURNSIDE

At Burnside (Dunedin) on Wednesday, 140 fat cattle were yarded, consisting principally of heifers, with a few good pens of medium to good bullocks. Prices all round were about the same as those ruling last week. Good bullocks made from £9 10s to £11; extra to £12; medium, to £8 to £9; light and inferior, £7 to £8; good heifers, £7 10s to £8 10s; extra, to. £9 ss; medium. £6 to £7.

Fat sheep. There were- 2286 penned, principally medium to inferior ewes, with a few pens of fair quality wethers. Prices were much on a par with last week's rates. Good wethers made from 18s to 20s; extra, to 24s 6d; medium, 16s to 17s 6d; good ewes. 17s to 18s 6d: extra, to 20s 9d; medium, 14s 6d to 16s 6d; light and inferior, 11s to 13s 6d. Fat lambs: 1350 were penned. Although there were a few pens of very prime lambs, the quality on the whole was not po good as that of late yardin es. Prices were slia;htlv firmer "than those ruling last week. Prime, 17s to 18s 6d: extra, to 19s 9d: medium. 15s to 16s 6d; light and inferior, 11s 6d to 13s 6d.
