GENERAL BADEN-POWELL
ARRANGEMENT TO MEET THE
BOY SCOUTS

Officers of the Boy Scout Troops, military officials and ministers of religion waited on Major-General Godley (Commandant of the Forces) to-day to discuss with him matters connected with the visit of General Sir R. BadenPowell, and subsequently General Godley informed a reporter' that the Government had approved a suggestion that as many boys as possible should lxyeet the General during his visit to the different centres; and it has now beon arranged that ho shall see as many senior cadets, junior cadets,.boy scouts, and boys of any description* as the General can dxiring his stay in the city. General Baden-Powell will' be at Auckland on May 27, at Wellington on May 30, at Christchurch on May 31, and at Dunedin on June 2. It is hoped that on these occasions all boys and everybody interested in the training of boy's will make every possible endeavor to see the distinguished visitor. The Defence Department is making the necessary arrangements for assemblages of boys at the different centres, details of which will be publishes later. It is hoped that employers, schoolmasters, and others will give the lads under their control nil possible facilities to be present at the paaade at Newtown Park on the afternoon of May 30. It has been sxiggested that a half-holiday should be declnred for. the occasion, or that in the alternative the weekly half-holiday should be held on that day in lieu of Wednesday.
