FOUR NEW STEAMERS

BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ABSOCIA XION,

DUNEDIN, Jan. 21. The Union Steamship. Conjpany has four steamers in the hands of Home builders^ viz., an intercolonial, liner of 13,000 tons, a twin vessel to the Maori for the Lytteiton-Wellington .service, and two cargo steamers* Of the latter one is a sister ship to the Kowhai^ specially constructed for service at shallow harbors, and will be christened Karamu. Its registered tonnage is 8000 tons. The other is a larger vessel of 8750 tons, and will be named the Katoa. Both steamers will be equipped with the latest appliances for the rapid removal of cargo.
