GALE ON THE BRITISH COAST,

NUMEROUS FATALITIES AND

BY CABLE—PEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. (Received Jan.- 19, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 18. A gale is raging in Britain. There are numerous fatalities, and much damage has been done to harbor works aaid shipping.

A German steamer was wrecked on the Goodwin Sands. The Ramsgate lifeboat gallantly rescued twenty of the passengers and crew.

A large unknown steamer was seen to turn turtle and founder near Petershead. There was a terrific gale, and it was impossible to help the crew<-

There are other wrecks on all parts of the coast.
