Tn the House of Representatives in reply to questions, Mr Fraser' stated he had received a communication from the High Commissioner notifying that the Pacific Gable Board proposed to reduce the rates-of Press, cables from 9d to 4£d a word, provided they are liable to a delay not exceeding 12 hours. The Government intended to agree to the proposal; and if the Eastern Company is agreeable, the rate will probably come into operation on January 1.
