The Regimental Band played a welcome. Mr Massey was suffering from a very bad cold, and his voice was sometimes hardiy audible. He had a splendid reception, and spoke along the lines of his previous speeches, his remarks meeting with frequent bursts of applause. At the conclusion of his address, the following motion was carried by a forest of hands: "That this meeting conveys a very hearty vote of thanks to Mr Massey for his excellent address, and, in the opinion of this community, considers that the tim-e has arrived when it i« necessary to have a change of Government in the best interest of this Dominion."
