BALL ROAD GRADING.

£To the Editor.)

Sir,—The letter in the Star from Mr J. 0. Taylor condemning the, County Council's grading of the above" road is, in my opinion, and the opinion or many more settlers, altogether; too severe. No doubt spring is the proper time for grading, but the work at present, being done and the unimportant' bumps to be levelled farther up towards Alton should not seriously affect ;the winter traffic on the road. It is easy for anyone to condemn and pick fault.' Let. the work go on, and for goodness' sake let us get the metalling done, and don't go bickering over details. We ihave had enough and to spare? c-f that already.—l am, etc.;
