MANAIA.

fFrom Our Own CorrespondeniV

The severo storm which was experienced in Manaia during Tuesday and Wednesday levelled some fences and trees. The old A.C. look-out tower in. the Recreation Ground was blown down, but not badly broken. The wooden foundations are rotten, but otherwise the wood in the structure is sound, and it is to be hoped that the authorities will see their way to replace it for tho sake of old remembrances of the war time. Some eight years ago the Board jthen in office did several repairs, including a concrete foundation, but the wood has rotted above it,' and, being exposed to the full force of the gale, it gave way. This morning there was a dead calm, a smiling sky, and bright sunshine, the elements appearing quite innocent and incapable of the fury shown on Wednesday.
