RAIN IN AUCKLAND.
AUCKLAND, April 1. The rainfall for 24 hours to 9 a.m. to-day was 3.84 inches, equal to 400 tons to the square inch. Mostly the rain fell between 9 p.m. and midnight. A gale, accompanied by thunder and lightning, prevailed during the night. Heavy rain is still falling.
