Hawera and Patea met on the latter's ground, ,and the visiting team won by 18 points. Details were as follows, Patea's scores being given first in each rink : — Patea — Homer, P. Palmer, Gilshnan, __ Hulbert, 21; Hawera — Reilly, Foden, Curtis, Robertson, 21. Sheahan, Dean, Elliott, Palmer, 19; Barnett, Crabbe, Canton, Strack, 25. Walker, Christiansen, Clark, B|eamish, 25; Breach, Hicks, G. Syme, Parkinson, 23. Howitt, O'Shea, Williams, Thompson, 15: Bates, Morrison, J. Syme, Cowell, 29. Totals: Patea 80; Hawera, 98. Patea Club excelled themselves in hospitality, meeting the visitors at the station with a drag, and in the afternoon the ladies of the club dispensed tea. Mr W. Robertson, on behalf of the Hawera Club, returned thanks, and Mr Howitt responded on behalf of Patea. Something like a record was put upon Hawera green one day last week. ' In a pairs match, 21 points, Rev. R. i J,. Shore and Mr Tait scored 8, 4 and 6 ' in three successive heads, and got their 21 in five heads.
