Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report: — Horses: Heavy draughts £22 to £31 10s, medium do. £15 to £27, hacks and light harness horses £5 to £15 15s 3
ponies £3 to £8 10s, gig £11. Cattle: Dairy cows £4 10s to £7 12s 6d, empty cows £2 2s to £3 17s, calves 17s to £2 2s. Beof was yarded in full numbers and sold at last week's rates. The market showed an improved tone. Oxen sold to 21s per 1001b and cows from 17s to 19s. Steers sold at from £5 17s 6d to £9 17s 6d, cows £4 to £7 10s. Sheep : Wethers 13s 6d to 19s 9d, ewes 10s 6d to 17s 3d, hoggets 10s 6d to 16s. Lambs were in full supply and sold at from lls 6d to 16s 6d for well fatted, other sorts 8s 3d to lls 3d. Pigs : Porkers 15s 6d to £1 14s, weanors 5s 6d to -16s, baconers £2 4s to £3 Is.
