CHRISTCHURCH, December 1. . Fat Cattle: Steers £7 to £10, heifers £5 15s to £8, cows £5 to £8 7s 6d. i Best steer beef 21s to 23s, 1 medium 18s to 20s 6d, and cow beef 17s 6d per 1001b. In veal calves there was a lair entry, principally of puny animals, and average demand, prices ranging from \4s 6d to £2, according to age, quality and condition. Fat lambs: The entries were mostly of good quality, but as a result of the large' supply and competition being confined to the butchers, prices were easier, ,and a decline equal to Is 6d per head on prices ruling the previous week has to be recorded. Despite .the large yarding nearly all the lotsrchanged hands, the number passed! being only 135. The best class realised 12s to 14s 6d. and lighter 8s 6d to Us 6d. Store sheep: Ewes, woolly and mostly aged, with lambs, 7s lOd to 9s 6d; shorn ewes with lambs 19s 2d, all counted, 4 and 6-topth ewes (shorn) 9s 3d to 9s 4d, ewes y in wool with lambs 10s 6d to 13s Id, shorn crossbred ewes Bs, shorn halfbred ewes 13s 9d, ewe hoggets in wool with lambs 10s 6d, 2tooth wethers (shorn) 9s 7d to 10s 10d', 4 "and 6-tooth wethers 13s 8d to 14s 2d, 4-tooth wethers, (very forward) 13s 3d to ,14s- 2d, cull shorn wethers 8s 4d, wether hoggets 10s" sd. Fat Pigs: Choppers £3 10s, heavy baconers 46s to 50s, and lighter 38s to 45s (equal to 4d to 4Jd per lb.), heavy porkers made 34s to 375, and lighter 30s to 33s (equivalent to 4£d to 4^d per lb). The demand for stores, of which there was a medium entry, showed an improvement^ especially for the smaller sorti£ Medium stores made 22s to 30s, rand smaller 18s to 20s, small weaners made 10s 6d, and good sorts to 15s 6d. . Fat Sheep: Woolly wethers 19s 9d, woolly hoggets 17i lOd, woolly ewes 15s to 18s 3d, prime shorn wethers -15s to 16s 6d, lighter 13s to 14b 6d, prime shorn ewes 12s 6d to 14s, 7d, others 8s to 12s, shorn hoggets 12s 6d. Store Cattle: Yearlings 365, 15 to 18-months 42s to 52s 6d,, two-year steers £4 Is to £4 13s. three-year steers £5 15s, two-ana-a-half-year steers £4 17s 6d, and dry cows 20s to £4 9s, dairy cows made £3 to £9 15s.
