POSITION AT NAPIEU. [PRESS ASSOCIATION ,J NAPIEU, July 21. There are still a good many men here who are unable to iind work. Very few subscriptions are being received by the Citizens' .Relief Committee, partly because there is a feeling against attracting men here when thero is no work to otter them. IMPROVING PiIOSPECT AT WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, July 21. A satisfactory feature in connection with the unemployment difficulty is that a number of men have asked for the I removal of their names from the Citizens' Relief Committee's list, stating that they have now found woi-k at their trades. One marked effect of the relief works 'is the rapid f alling-off in the number of applicants at the Labor Department's Bureau in Wellington. One hundred and seventeen men are employed at bushfelling at Waitotara, and are reported to be doing well. Though the Public Works Department has been sending batches of unemployed to 'he railway works at Stratford, Gisborne and the Midland railway, the total number of its employees has not increased materially, as there are as many men leaving as are being put on, which :s: s taken as an indication that the labor market is improving. NEW PLYMOUTH. Six married men were employed at the Recreation Grounds on Tuesday doing necessary work, and four addition il married men will be put on this morning, says the News.
