TENNIS.

A handicap tennis tournament played between members of the local club was decided at the courts this afternoon. The weather was beautifully fine, and there was a good attendance of both players and onlookers, the games generally being well contested. The winners were found in Miss Berridge and Mr F. J. Northcott, who were; at the conclusion of the tournament presented with the trophies which were donated by the club's secretary (Mr Austin Thomas). Appended are the results of the various games: — Miss Parkes and Mr Betts 40, beat Miss Berridge and Thomas 36; Mrs Maclagan and Mr Adlam 40, beat Mrs Lonergan and Mr Death 35 ;/ Miss Pierce and Mr Maclagan 40, beat Miss Hollard and Mr Scott 31; Miss Berridge and Mi- Northcott 40, beat Miss Powell and Mr Mills, 34 ; Mrs Maclagan and Mi\ Adlam 40, beat Miss Parkes and Mr Betts 25; Miss Donald and Mr Matheson 40, beat Miss Pierce and Mr O'Sullivan 37; Miss Berridge and Mt Northcott 40* beat Mrs Maelagan and Mr Adlam 32 ; Miss Berridge and Mr Northcott 40, beat Miss Donald and Matheson 26.
