HAWERA MOUNTED RIFLES

On Saturday the Hawera Mounted Rifles spent another useful -day in field work, the Corps being instructed in route reconnaissance in <the morning and fire practice and attack in the afternoon. General leave was igiven in the evening. Yesterday morning the Corps, in company with the Hawera Rifle Volunteers, attended divine service at St. Mary's Church. There was a good congregation. The hymns, psalms, and sermon, (which was preached by the Rev. J. R. Cassell) were" all appropriate to the occasion. The lesson was read by Rev. Chaplain Klingender, of ■ Manaia. The Hawera Borough Ba/rad played* the volunteers to and from the church. Taking advantage of the fine weather, the camp at the show grounds was visited by, a large number of people in the 'afternoon.
