At the Methodist Conference to-day, the Rev J. N. Buttle submitted the Foreign Mission balaJice-sheet, which showed fox New Zealand a record income of £2210 12b 4d. It was resolved to request the President of the Conference to visit- the leading centres with a view to 'the eistablishmeint of ladies' missionary auxiliaries, similar to the one m Dunedin.

In the evening the ordination service took place in the Sydeniham Church, which was crowded. The candidates were the Revs M. A. R. Pratt, A. J. Seamer, B. J. James, J. Wilson, and Aone Hame (Native Minister). The ex-PTesident, the Rev G. A Brook'Sj delivered the orddnation> chaise.

The second reading of the stations for the Wanganui diistarict was as follows : — New Plymouth, T. G. Brooke, R. F. Williams; Waifcara, F. T. Read; Vglewood, E. D. Pat-chett; Stratford, A. N. Scotter ; Eltham, A. J. Reed ; Hawera, S. J. Gibson, H. R. Riohairds; Paitea, a. home missionary; Opunake, J. W. Worboys ; Kaponga, W. B. Scott ; Wamganui, J. G. Chapman; Aiamoho, W. J. Oxbrow; Rangitikei, T. G. Carr; Samdon, McNiccoll; Feilding, C. E. Be,ecroft; Palmeiston North, a home missionary ; Taihape, F. Copland ; Waimairino, one wanted; West Coast Maori Mission, T. G. Hammond, R. Haddon ; Mokau-Kadtieke. a home missionary.

CHRISTCHURCH, March 8.

At the Mjeithodist Ooofeirence Mißsioinary breakfast to-day am appeal was made on behalf of church exbansion and io liquidate the present debt on the Home Mission Fund 1 of £700 . Much enthusiasm was dasplayed, and the debt was practically extinguished by a guarantee from various districts. Promises to the amount of £3000 were given in sums from £300 downwards.
