NIXON, BADDELEY AND FORLONG'S STOCK REPORT.
Messrs Nixon, Baddeley and Forlong report as follows r — We held our first Raejahi sale on the 9th instant, when we were favored with a good entry of sheep, and a small yarding of cattle. A large number of buyers attended, and bidding was brisk throughout. With the exception of two small pens of sheep we succeeded in quitting v all ' the lines offered under the hammer at satisfactory prices. We quote : giveep— Mixed lambs 9s Bd, wether lambs (shorn) 9s 3d, swe lambs 10? lOd, 2-tooth ■wethers 34s 3d and 14s 4d, fat and forward wethers 15s 6d, fat do. 16s, 4 and 6-tootb ewes 16s, fat ewes 14s. f.m. ewes lls 6d tol2s Cattle— Fat cows £4 19s to £5. forward cows £3 2s 6d, 2£-year steeis £3 4s, 8-months mixed cattle £2 2s, empty s heifers £3. » j We held our annual sheep fair at our j Wanganui yards on the 13th, when^ some . 6000 odd sheep were offered. Though we | had a large attendance bidding for store , sheep was dull. Lambs sold well. A few i pens of cattle sold readily. We succeeded in quitting a number of the lines passed after ihe sale at prides slightly in favor of buyers. We quote: Sheep— Mixed lambs (poor) 6s 6d, 6s 9d, and 7s, others 8s 5d i to 8s Bd, wether lambs 99 to 9s 7d, poor [ do. 8s 6d, fat lambs 12s, 2-tooth ewes ; (poor) lls 3d, others 17s lOd, 6-tooth and j f.m. 'ews 13s 9d, f.m. ewtes 9s to 10s, 2 '• and 4-tooth wethers 14s 8d to 15s. Cattle ; — Springing heifers £3 Is to £3 15s, empty heifers £2 ss, yearling heifers 20s 6d, 18month do. 26s 6d, 18-month to 2-year steers £2 4s, 2£-year steers £2 19s, cows and calves £2 Is to £2 7s 6d, empty cow.v £2 4s.
