NORMANBY.

WEDDING.

(Front Our Own Corresnondent.) A very pretty ceremony was performed 1 -at St.' Paul's, Normanby, on April 19th, when Ethel Mary, eldest daughteT of Mr John White,, of Waibi, Normanby, was married to Mr Arthur Edmund Nicholas, of Alton, seventh son of Mr T. G. L. Nicholas, South road, Hawera. The Rev. JT. A. Jacob was the officiating minister.

Mr Harry G. Nicholas (brother of the iridegroom) acted as best man., Mr Haray Whitie (brother of the. bride) as grdomsand the Misses Dorothy and Maggie White (sisters of the bride) as bridesmaids.

The bride looked exceedingly nioe -dressed in white figured silk, trimmed with silk insertion, and silk Jace, with

orange blofsoms and, veil (the veil being -the same as worn by her mother when a liride on. the same, date 25 years ago). The bride carried a choice shower bouquet of white flowera.

The bridesmaids wore dreese6 of cream 3ancy muslin, trimmed "with Valencienne lace, and hate trimmed with cream silk •and chiffon. Tney carried choice bouquets wore gold heart brooches, the gift of the bridegroom. The wedding breakfast ■was partaken, of at the residence of the Ibride'e parents, at which a large numbelr •of relatives and friends assembled. The -wedding presents, which were over 60 in .number, were very "valuable. Mr and Mrs left in the evening fox their home ;atAlton, with the usual happy wishes for their future welfare and happiness.

In the evening a. large number of the .young folks gathered at the Norniamby Town Hall to celebrate the occasion with a social and dance, everyone present spending a most enjoyable evening.

A % record has been put up by Mr H. Best, Mountain road, as regards firewood obtained from one tree (a rata), twentyfour cords of 4ft. wood, being split. There is nothing Yankee about this ; it is a fact.
