[PEESS ASSOCIATION.] DUN.EDIN, January 25. At a meeting of prominent bowlers from the North and South Island to-night, the question, of an Exhibition Tournament at Christchurch. to be held conjointly by the New Zealand Bowling Association and the North Island Bowling Association, was discussed, and warmly supported. The idea may be expected to take practical shape very shortly. ESCAPE FROM PRISON. WELLINGTON, January 25. John Frederick Crook, aged 19 years, serving a three years' sentence for theft, escaped from the prison work at Mount Cook barracks this afternoon. ACCUSED FEIGNING MADNESS. AUCKLAND, January 26. John Francis l*sher was chai'ged with several thefts, he being alleged to have stolen goods to the value of £149.
