OAMARU, October 27. News has been received by cable froniVancouver (B.CJ, of the death there, suddenly, of Mr Thos. .Meek, President of the Flonrmillers' Association^ -and head of t..e firm of J. and T.-Meek. He had been in poor health for some time, .but was repotted to be greatly improved, and on his way home, via Canada. Deceased was born in 1842 in Lanarkshire. _ Heleaves a widow and six children. - AUCKLAND, October 27. ~ Three deaths occurred o nthe voyage -of the Ruapehu, which arrived from London to-day, two infant* named Hanna and Boyd". and a carpenter named Inman. The latter died from heartr disease. OAMARU. October 27., The death is announced of Mr Wm. McHutcheson. at the age of 95. .Deceased was born in Scotland tn 1810. He came to^s'ew Zealand in 1862. and settled in Christchurch. Twenty years ago he. removed to here. He leaves 26 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His son is the chief postmaster at Timaru.
