Before the Audit Commission to-day the Commissioners ruled -that the documents put in must not be copied-or used for ulterior purpose*, "-but merely for the purpose of cross-examination of witnesses. Richard B. Morris, chief clerk ~in_ the Christchurch Post Office, said he had no knowledge of any cheque being signed m the Chrißtchurch Post Office in favor of Captain Seddon. _ - Cross-examined by Mr Fisher, witness uaid he did not see alL the vouchers" .that went through the office. Immediately on receipt of a telegram from Mr Seddon the postmaster at Christchurch (Mr McBeth) committed Himself to the statement -that Captain Seddon had never- been ' seen in the -Christchurch Post Office. On witness's suggestion Mr Mcßeth qualified the statement. Mr Mcßeth had "not a good memory. Mr Willis had a good memory. The Commission ruled that between 10 and 1 p.m. to-morrow Messrs, Willis and party be given facilities at the Treasury to search the vouchers, 1903-04, made out in favor of R. Sneddon. - | . Kennefct, McKay Rogers, employed m tha ChTistchurch Poet- Office, gave evidence to the effect that all vouchers, that passed through the office were -entered- in a book. It was possible, but not prob- . able, that one- could escape entry. He did not think Willis and the other threepost office officials could be deceived. -by a "faked" voucher. - _
