HAWERA HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Hawera Horticultural Society was held in the Borough Chambers on Tuesday afternoon; present — Mr J. Livingston (Vice-President), in the chair, Mrs Westenra, Messrs W. A. Parkinson, Robbins, Wrigley, C. O. Ekdahl, Meek, and' C. Goochon (Secretary). ANNUAL REPORT.

The Secretary read the annual report as follows : — "In presenting the annual report for tho year ending 31st June, 1905, we have to say that it was decided at the annual meeting held on 19th January, 1904, to hold a show oh the Ist December following. But owing to a disastrous storm having come a fo wweeks prior to the date fixed, it was thought best to abandon the idea of holding one, as the finances of the Society would not stand any risks of a failure. The present position is that after paying for expenses incurred during the year we have a credit balance of £3 10s to start the coming soason. The members' fees were not collected, although the notices were sent

The report was adopted. The Chairman said that the Society was in a fair financial position, as there was a credit balance of £3 10s, and none of last year's subscriptions had been collected. As there was no show it was nofc intended to collect them. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. Officers were elected as follows : — President, Mr W. G. White; VicePvesident, Mr J. Livingston; Treasurer and Secretary. Mr C. Goodson; auditors, Messrs J. " Turton and R. F. Page ; Ladies' Committee, Mesdames Wrigley, Dingle, Major, Welsh, Barton, F. V. Lvsaght, F. Moore, Nolan, W. A. Parkinson. J. W. Scott, W. Smith, C. Goodson, Tonks. R. Hicks, Williams, Coutts, W. G. White, Westenra, T. Bayley, Pater son, Jacob, Koch, Misses Muir. Lysaght, and Maunder; Gentlemen's Committee, Messrs Wrigley, Ekdahl,F. I V. Lysaght, W. Dingle, W.*C. Adamson, A. C. Parkinson, W. A. Parkinson. Meek, } and Paterson.

THE SEASON'S ARRANGEMENTS,

To fix dates for coming events and to decide whether it is advisable to hold a bulb show it was deemed advisable to appoint an Executive Committee. The following is the committee : — Mesdames Dingle, Welsh, Moore, Lysaght, Parkinson, Smith, Westenra, White, Messrs Meek, Dingle, and J. C. Ekdahl. The meeting then. rose.
