-CHRISTCILURCH, June 26. Jahies Castle, an old age pensioner, was brought/ from Kai£our% suffering from burns, occasioned by attempting to extinguish a_fire in his wliare. He died in the hospital this morning* ~At the inquest a. verdict of accidental death was returned. Ernest Tierise, 15 years of age, who resided with his parents at Woolston, and is~employed at Messrs Butterworth Bros.' warehouse", fell two stories down a lift to-day, and, in addition to a severe shaking, his left wrist was broken. Patrick -O'Callaghan, an old man, died suddenly at'the Railway Hotel, Amberley, on Sundaynight, apparently of old age. < - GREYMOUTH, June 27. An old. man named " Charles Heatber!<'y fell over a terrace ab Blackball, and was killed.
AUCKLAND, June 27.
A lad of six years named John Goonan, when returning home last night, fell from the bridge into the Ohinemuri river and was drowned. A verdict of accidental death was ■ returned. _
