ACCIDENT AND DEATH.
[PBESS ABBOOIAXION.J CARTERTON, June 26. A man named Wilson, a butcher, was thrown trom a vehicle on Saturday night, and lies in the hospital in a serious condition. Mrs Catherine Wakelin, 73 yeaTs of age, tho wife of E. L. Wakelin, un old settler, dropped dead while sewing. The doctor had warned the family that her death would be sudden

ESTATE.
WELLINGTON, June 26. The New Zealand estate of the late Sir Frederick Sargood has bean finally certified for stamp duty at £200,838.
AUCKLAND, June 26. McSivcrs' boardinghouse, Park road, has been destroyed by fire. The. inmates had a narrow escape and some of them bad to drop from the upstairs windows. Practically nothing was saved.
