WELLINGTON, June- 26. The Land Commission resumed -its sittings here this, morning. Mr Kirk, Government Biologist, gave evidence-respect-ing grasses^ The Chairman explained that tho grasses on Crown lands had been deteriorating for ycaira past, but the witness eahl lie saw no difficulty in revivifying worn-out grasses if tho fields wcre-i given a ( Imnoc. For_ the betterment of poor ■ lands lie recommended -darts mia grasses, bulked up with ripe grass, cue or fescue. Large areas .of high country ;ind poor 'and from which' native grasses were removed to make room fo.r imported grasses would have to be replanted with native grasses. ,
