FIRE.

WELLINGTON, March 20. ' A fire was discovered on the premises of Scott and Co., indent agents, etc. of Victoria street, yesterday afternoon. The outbreak is supposed to have occurred among the kapok on the top floor. A large amount of damage was done to the stock by fire and water Mr Hodgson indent agent, and Mr Anderson, indent agent, occupy the floors beneath Scott's and thoir stocks a'so suffered by water. The premises- are owned by Mr J. M. Richardson, and insured for £6000 m the Phoenix. The building is not- much damaged. Scott and. Co.'s stock was valued at £8000, and insured for £6000, but the amount of damage is not yet assessed. Hodgson's and Andersons stocks were also insured. ■,
