A vouug man named Arthur Cut-field, agod '23 son of the manager of tho local branch of the National Bank, was accidentally killed on Saturday afternoon at Kai Iwi. Whilo tho train by which ho was » passenger was at the siding awaiting tlie mail train to pasa. Outfield's dog got on the line. Deceased jumped off to take the dog away, when tho mail train rushod by, smashing the unfortunate young man's skull and cutting his aide open.- The injured man was taken to Wanganui hospital, where he died about six o clock.
