Wairiki is barked in tho local market for £3000 at 100 to 6 for tho Melbourne Cup. 2000 to 80 was accepted about Canteen for tho same race and for the Caulfield Cup 2000 to 160 was laid against Gladsome, though it is doubtful if better than ten to one could now be obtained. The double, Gladsome and Sweet Nell, was backed for several thousands at 1000 to 3. MELBOURNE, September 24. Wairiki moved somewhat short in his work at Fleimngton, and uppcarcd a little aoro on the walk homo.
