ELTHAM CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
On the fourth page of this issue -will be found the programme for the Eltham Caledonian Society's sports, io take place on the 27th inst on Taumata Park. The programme has been veil arranged, anJ very fair prizus are offered. On per--sal it will be noticed that a special feature has been introdaced in the shape vi a School Challenge Cup race. It is open to boys, nob over the age of fifteen, attending any State school in the Taranaki province ; but not more than three competitors can compete from each school, and six schools have to enter before the priza will be allotted. The winner will get a handsome sil\er challenge cup and a gold medal, while the runners-up will be awarded silver medals. The cup. is to c kept by the headmaster of the winning school. This is "the Society's first effort, and- having made' an auspicious start its future career will be watched with interest. The nominations closj on Saturday next with Mr W. A. Cathro, the Secretary.
