(From Our Own Ccrrespondent.) Mr F. J. Cumberworth, who has bean for several years* with Mr C. A. Wilkinson, of this town, has now started here as a land and commission agent in premises recently occupied by Mr A. J; Canning. Mr Cumberworth, who is well known in this locality, should do well in his new departure. The weather here during the last few days has been particularly boisterous. Part of the damage it did was to blow in the windows of the Bank of New South Wales. The windows, however, had been previously cracked by Wadey's fire. Several residents are complaining that their hay will be injured by the damp. Eltham very badly requires a fire-bell Only about twenty residents werpXpresent at the recent fire, and -"not one q| the brigade, everyone It ing entucJy iwonscious of the fact that there was. a. dagger, should a chenge of wind have occurre'l, of a good block of buildings being purnt down.
