Wellington, February 8. Richard A, Bruckard, oyster-saloon keeper, was fined JE2S for sly grogselling to men who had gone to the place under arrangement with the police.
ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(PBB PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, February 7. In view of the medical evidence at the inquest, the police are making inquiries in regard to the body of the infant found on the Thorndon Esplanade yesterday.
Wanganui, February 7. At the inquest into the circumstances connected with the drowning of the boy Fitzmaurice on Wednesday, a verdict of accidental drowning was returned. A rider was added commending the lad Herbert Purnell for his endeavours to rescue the deceased.
