THE ATKINSON MEMORIAL.
Tho following letter speaks for itself :—
Westminster Chambers, 13, Victoria street, London. S.W. Decomber 12tb, 1901. — Dear Sir, — I have to thank you for your very kind letter of the Ist November last, and am very glad to hear that Sir Harry Atkinson's bust reached New Zealand safely, and has pleased his family and friends. I know that Mr Pegram spared no pains over the work, and I am writing to him to let him know what satisfaction it has given. A.s for my own small part in the matter, I need hardly say chat it gave mo the greatest possible pleasure to be of any littlo service. As you know, I belong to the party opposed to Sir H. Atkinson, but I Binceiely admired his abilities, honour, and strength of character. Ho was, in the fullest sense of the words, one of the rulers and statesmen of New Zealand.— Yours very truly, W. P. Reeves. James Davidson, Esq , Chairman of the Atkinson Memorial Committee, Hawera, New Zealand.
