The Rugby Union Committee struck the Lawrence Club off the roll ior playing a disqualified player against Waipori. The secretary of the New Zealand Union wrote notifying the receipt of a resolution disqualifying Porteous till the end of the 1901 season for striking in the Wellington match. It was decided to ask if the New Zealand Union, having evidence in their possession, intended to take action with regard to McGuirk, who gave provocation.
