Arbitration Court. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, July 24.

The Arbitration Court has begun the bearing of the seamen's disputes which was before the Conciliation Board 17 days. Mr McLean for the Union Company pointed out that both the Seamen's Union and the Company were domiciled at Dunedin and that disputes might crop up elsewhere. The Company had I no wish to get into conflict with the em- | ployees, and asked the Court if it could not have one case to govern everything. HJudge Edwards thought that when a dispute|was colonial it should be Battled onc.e for all. The Act required amendment to enable this to be done, but the Court would bear the subject in mmd though it could not at present do as suggested. A number of cases under the new city bye-law to prevent street loiterinc was being heard to-day.
