The Education Board has deoided to raise tbe salaries of female teachers all round by about 10 per cent; also, to increase small salaries to tbe amount previous to the reduction effected six years ago. The extra ooßt will be about £141. J per annum, but as the country distriots not now paying are rapidly increasing in attendance, it is expected they will before long afford some relief to tbe strain on the board's funds.
