The political platform adopted by the Liberal Association endeavors to secure electoral, educational, labor, and eooial reform. They urge the granting of votiDg powers to every adult householder on the municipal elections and tbe abolition of plural voting; that eleotion of. local boards be conducted on the same franchise as Parliamentary election; free and secular education, compulsory education up to 15 yeats, children passing the 6th standard before that age exoepted. One universal set of standards and one set of school books for the colony ; the finding of work by tbe State for those unable to obtain it themselves, snob work to be oarried out under the co-operative principle; statutory eight hours, or 44 ' nours per week, for all workers ; compulsory arbitration ; State ownership of land, railways, mines, and coast marine service; State bank; abolition of Legislative Council, and institution of Referendum ; abolition of grand and special juries ; payment to common jnrors of 10a per day ; control of liqnor traffio by tbe people; Und tax only.
