LOST AT SEA. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
LYTTELTON, May 9. On tbe arrival of the Manapouri from Wellington, it was reported that A. Beaumont, a well-known runholder in the Marlborough district, was missed the previous Dight between ten and eleven o'olook. He had apparently fallen or jumped overboard. He was going Home by the Kaikoura with his wife and three children. He was subject to melancholia on the trip from Piokton to Wellington, and showed an molination to do away with himself. He gave his wife considerable trouble theri. She said nothing of this to the officers of the Manapouri. At 1 her urgent request they were given the deck oabin together. When missed, a striot search was made.
