Haweba, May 4. We held our fortnightly sale at Stratford on Friday, the" 28th ult. The yards were fairly well filled with cattle, but dullness of bidding charactarised the sale throughout, though we mnaged to sell the bulk of the stock yarded. We quote : Fat and forward bullocks £5 2s 6d, weaners and yearlings (mixed) 18s to 40s, fat cows £A to £A 6s, cows in calf and springers £3 7s 6d to £4 103. Our monthly horse fair, which was held on Saturday, the 29th pit., was the largest in po?nt of entries that we have had for some time pas j, though the quality of the the ho was not up to the average. The atterdarce was good, but there were few buyers, though a large number of torses changed hands at or immediately after the sale. We quote: draught Jßl3 10s to £26 t harness horses £7 to JBIO, hacks up to £9. (JThere was a considerable improvement in the sale which we held in tin Glover road yards, Hawera, on Wednesday, the 3rd inst. Our advertised entries of cattle (the most of which were fat and forward bullocks) were very large, and these all earned fo? sale. The entries of sheep, however, fell a little short of the advertised number. There was a large attendance of purchasers, some of them coming from a distance to be 1 present at the Bale ; and though bidding was not brisk and sales in some cases were effected with difficulty, still we managed to dispose of nearly every line of stock yarded. We quote:— Fat bullocks £5 15s to jC6 ss, forward bullocks £4, 5s to £5 ss, 2-year steers £3 10s to £3' lls, yearlings £2 to £2 3s, fat cows £3 10s to £4. Sheep — Ewes mixed ages 7s 7d, woolly lambs 6s Id, culls (mixed) 3s 4d,
