HAWEBA R.M. COURT.
Tuesday, October 16th, 1891. (Before 0. 0. Kettle, Esq., R.M.)
Morokapa, a native was , proceeded against for being a disorderly person he refused to leave the licensed house of T. Urwin wben directed to do so ; and another information charge of assault. Defendant left a horse in charge of complainant to be obtained next day on payment of Is ; and he sent for it, but complainant was not satisfied of the authority of the messenger and declined to give np tbe animal. Some days later defendant himself came for tbe horse, and then complainant demanded another 2s, which defendant declined to pay. A dispute arose in which defendant j was alleged to have behaved in the way complained of. He was looked np by the j police. The R.M. considered that it was not a case coming within the intention of the section, and as it was admitted there had been a misunderstanding the matter ought to have been settled without recourse to Buoh proceedings. The assault case was withdrawn by leave of the Court. Mr. Matbews for prosecution ; Mr. Barton for defendant. v civil oases. * . i J. E. Fergusonv. Richard Eogers.— Judgment sqmmonß. Defendant was ordered to pay the debt £7 Is 6d on or before 3Qtb November. Hastie v. Brennan. — Judgment sum* mons. Adjourned for a week. D. W. Irvine v. John Ellis.— Claim for £10. Judgment for defendant by consent, action being discontinued. Mr. Barton for plaintiff; Mr. Hutchison for defendant.
