MANAIA TOWN BOARD.

(FBOM OUB MANAIA COBRESPONDENT.) The ordinary monthly meeting was held on Wednesday evening, when there were present Messrs. Philip McCarthy (acting chairman) Ghas. McCarthy, and John Milroy, the latter taking his seat for the first time. A county rate of $ d and town §d was levied payable on the Ist December. MoOarthy). Resolved, That tenders be called for the supply of gravel, for repairs only, for a period of one year from the acceptance of tender, tenders to close on the 21st isst. (Milroy P. Mr. Milroy said he intended, if that motion were carried next month,, to move that the advertising be given to the Witness, except where the board from time to time decided otherwise. Transfer of M. Gall's leasehold section in block ix. to P. Tarrant was agreed. Reßolved, That at the time the Manaia road, north, is being repaired the footpath on the east side as far as the Wesleyan and Catholio Churches be weeded and generally repaired. Also footpath on west side fronting blook 6 to be formed and gravelled six feet in width. (Milroy — P. McOartLy.) Resolved, in compliance with request of Mr. Wilton that section 6, blook xviii., be let at £1 a year on a tenancy terminable on six months notice. The committee's report acoepting R.
