FATAL ACCIDENT.
A 'Very sad and sudden aocident hap> pened ; to a yonng man named Thomas East,' who was in the employ of Mr. H, Linn, Eltham, wbich resulted in the lad's death. He went out abont 7 p.m. on Tuesday to catch a horse, and jnst as he was going up behind it the animal let out with his bind foot and kicked him in tbe stomach. He was conveyed to the cottage hospital, Hawera, by Mr. Linn and his brother, where I they arrived at 3.80 a.m. yesterday, and Drs. Alexander and Lightbonrne attended him, together with Mr. J. D. Murray (in Mr. Ferguson's employ), who was a school -fellow of Eaet; but East passed away in great agony at 12 o'clock last night. The young man's parents are residents of Pnkekohe, neat Auckland, and they will miss him very much. He was the eldest of the family, his age being 20 years. It is not deemed necessary to hold an inquest.
