WHAKAMARA.

(FKOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)

The weather has been very boisterous the last few days — heavy thunder and rain.

Our school opens in "Viotoria Hall on the 18th instant, Mr. W. Olphert being the head-master.

There is to be divine service on the 22nd inst. (Friday), in the Victoria Hall, when the Eev. A. Clarke, of Patera, will officiate. It is to be hoped that the settlers will on this occasion turn out en masse, as tbe reverend gentleman comes a long way (out of his district) to administer to their wants.
