Mr. Cleary, the stationmaster, has gone for a fortnight's holiday, being relieved by Mr. Hair.
Mr. Orange has commenced work at his fellmongery establishment on the site of the old meat works.
At a meeting held last evening relative to the proposed citizens' ball, a strong committee was formed for the purpose of making the necessary arrangements.
The Waverley is detained in port owing to the very heavy sea on the bar. Last night the weather was exceptionally bad, it is now, however, subsiding in force. May 22.
