WHAKAMARA.

(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)

We have bad a visitor in our midst lately, in the person of Mr. Gane, of the Wairau, near Blenheim. During his stay here, Mr. Gane has been continuing business with pleasure, and has taken back with him some splendid specimens of pure-bred Lincoln sheep, specially selected for him by Mr. Buckrell, of Wbakamara, from the well known flocks of Mr. E. M. Honeyfield, of Patea. Mr. Gane's purchase consisted of eighteen ewes and one ram, which, for uniformity in type and for excellence of quality, could not be surpassed. These fine animals left Patea, by the s.e. Waverley, last Tuesday for their " pastures new ;" and certainly Mr. Gane deserves to be congratulated on the selection made. May 21.
